Living near a top performing school could add value to your property
Published: 10/12/09
Churchill house insurance has revealed from a new study that by living near a top performing school could add value to your property.
It could increase your property value by as much as £8,000 according to the home insurance company.
The study showed that if a school in your catchment area achieved great SATs scores say around a ten per cent increase, then this would probably increase property prices by around three per cent for those houses that lived nearby.
If school pupils who are aged 11 got a level four for their SAT results then property owners would see an even bigger increase in the value of their home.
It’s true that top performing schools could now potentially increase the value of you’re home by about 11% giving you an increase of around £19,000 if you compared it to the same type of property in an area that had a school with low SAT exam results for their pupils.
