Abbey National Believes UK homes Face Weather Risk
Published: 09/08/08
The Abbey National feels that more UK homes than ever before are at risk from damage caused by adverse weather conditions.
It has been impossible not to notice the increased frequency of floods in the UK, affecting more areas than was previously thought possible too. The UK has a real mix of weather conditions, though some aspects, like rainfall, seem to be getting worse. With houses taking the brunt of the different weather conditions it makes a great deal of sense to ensure adequate home insurance is in place. This point was emphasised by an Abbey National spokesman recently when he suggested everyone should ensure they are protected from the elements both physically and financially.
Figures provided by the Abbey National show that the average cost of damage caused by bad weather is almost GBP2,700. This certainly puts the small price of home insurance into perspective.
